The core intervention of the project is to contribute to the promotion of the human rights of women and girls in Sudan and to enhance gender equality in the country throughout promoting the understanding of the targeted rural communities about the harmful impact of the child marriage as a practice inhibiting girls and women’s full and equal enjoyment of their human rights.
The project has run activities to improve the understanding of the targeted community about the harmful impact of child marriage throughout the interactive child marriage education programmes, Radio programmes, and production of advocacy materials. The project has also implemented activities to child marriage such as girls’ clubs and training of influential community leaders on gender and child marriage. The project has also implemented dialogues sessions involving the state council on child welfare and coordination body initiative.
